Happy Thanksgiving D6! Have you eaten your first Thanksgiving plate yet?!This past Monday my office and I had our annual D6 Thanksgiving Turkey and Dinner Giveaway! We passed out 300 turkeys and food boxes to the D6 residents which were provided by Community FoodBank. Thank you to our partners Senator Rodger Smitherman, Beta Mu Nu chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Farris, Riley & Pitt Law Firm and Lightfoot Law Firm. YOUTHSPEAK 2023: A Celebration of Black History.

Watch highlights and comments from Pro Tem Crystal Smitherman from this year’s 2nd annual performance at Red Mountain Theatre. This year students from Carver High School, Ramsay High School, Hudson K-8, Huffman High School, Holy Family Criso Rey Catholic High School and Huffman Middle School collaborated to create a program honoring Black Americans who shaped our nation.

IMAGINE: Watch highlights from Ramsay High School Dance and Theatre Department’s performance, IMAGINE, their tribute to Black History Month! This was performed live and recorded at Red Mountain Theatre. Presented by Council Pro Tem Crystal Smitherman and Red Mountain Theatre.
