The City of Birmingham is partnering with Birmingham City Schools and the community with one goal in mind— to improve student reading ability. Page Pals is a reading incentive program designed to produce more effective 3rd-grade student readers both inside and outside the classroom. Volunteers and organizations are needed to be a part of “read with a child,” where individuals can assist students with reading after school at various libraries and recreation centers in the City of Birmingham.
