Did you know Birmingham City Schools offers FREE First Class Pre-K for 4 year olds?! Openings are still available for the 2023-2024 school year at the new West Center Street location in District 6. There is also a Pre-K Program at Hemphill Elementary and Washington K-8 Schools.
We also still have 51 First Class Pre-K classes inside the schools. Data shows that the students who go through First Class Pre-K program are more prepared for kindergarten and score higher in reading in 3rd grade.
