BIG DAY for local businesses in Districts 1, 5, 6, 7 & 9! Today the Future Forward Grant Recipients from The Penny Foundation Inc were announced and we couldn’t be happier for our local entrepreneurs who were part of the organization’s biggest grant cycle to date! $125k in grants will be awarded to minority-owned businesses in our City.

Councilor Clinton Woods, Council President Darrell O’Quinn, Councilor Crystal N. Smitherman, Council President Pro Tempore Wardine Alexanderand Councilor LaTonya Tate all contributed funds to this year’s grant recipients to help small businesses in their districts. Here is a list of all the awardees for this year:

District 5: Moore2More Health, Morris Avenue Eyecare Adams Eyecare, H Plus H Properties and Contracting LLC, FLY V, Stacie Latrelle Creative Designs & Events, Slade Land Use, Environmental, and Transportation Planning, LLC, Etheridge Beauty & Style Shop

District 7: Pat’s Prime Cleaning Services LLC, Iron City Cleaning LLC, Six10 Visuals

District 9: Majestic Beauty Bar, Gibson Electrical Company, L Williams & Associates, Rena’s Couture, Naturalle Goode, Birmingham Children’s Theatre
